Meet JASHI

Jashi has been a cornerstone of the Morrisville community since 2007. She raised two brilliant children, Akshar and Anvita, while building a successful professional career. Despite a busy personal life, Jashi passionately advocates for the town’s residents, working to ensure that all voices are heard and that the community remains vibrant and inclusive.

Jashi proudly served as the Vice-Chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee, where she played an active role in shaping the town’s cultural landscape. One of her proudest accomplishments is founding the Morrisville Holi and Diwali celebrations, which now attract nearly 5000+ people each year. These cultural events have become a pillar of the community, celebrating diversity and raising cultural awareness. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Morrisville Veterans Memorial Foundation, actively evangelizing veteran causes, including fundraising.
With over 10 years of experience working in Duke’s Psychiatry Residency Department, Jashi has a deep commitment to mental health and supporting underserved populations, including disabled residents and immigrants. Her professional background, combined with her community engagement, has equipped her to amplify the voices of those who often go unheard.
She believes in the power of community service and is dedicated to creating a Morrisville that is not only inclusive but also sustainable for future generations.

Key Priorities

Smart Tax Policies & Financial Relief

Morrisville should remain affordable for everyone, especially the seniors and long-term residents who helped build our community. I’ll advocate for targeted property tax relief to help them stay in their homes, support small businesses with streamlined processes and innovative incentives, and prioritize transparent budgeting to ensure every tax dollar directly benefits our residents.

Sustainable Growth & Infrastructure

As Morrisville grows, we need development that’s thoughtful and sustainable. I’ll work to preserve green spaces, improve traffic flow through smarter infrastructure, and expand public transit options that reduce congestion and better connect our neighborhoods—all while protecting the character of our town.

Cultural Diversity & Community Engagement

Our diversity is one of Morrisville’s greatest strengths, and I’ll work to celebrate it through more multicultural events that bring people together. I’ll advocate for multilingual communication and greater representation in leadership while creating more ways for residents to engage and shape the future of our town through open, community-driven conversations.
